Bruton

Life in Bruton

Bruton is a small friendly Saxon town in south-east Somerset with the River Brue flowing through its heart. It is full of fascinating architectural gems, including the Packhorse Bridge, St Mary's Church, Sexey's Hospital and the Dovecote, and is a popular place in which to live, work and relax.

Bruton has many thriving groups and societies to keep its 3000 residents fully occupied. The annual Festival of Arts, including the celebrated Packhorse Fair, is a noteworthy attraction as is the Art Show, Horticultural Show and musical and theatrical productions. The shops, restaurants, pubs and the famous Hauser & Wirth Gallery attract a wide range of visitors, many of whom visit and tour the Hospital.
