How we are governed and managed

How Sexey's Hospital is managed

The governance of Hugh Sexey’s Hospital charity is undertaken by up to fifteen (currently fourteen) voluntary Visitors [trustees] who see their responsibilities for running the Hospital in vocational terms. They manage the Hospital through four subcommittees which oversee the estates, buildings, finance, welfare,, and the Hospital itself. The governance involves regular meetings of the whole body. The entire foundation comes together in October every year to celebrate Founder’s Day with a service of commemoration and thanksgiving.

Safeguarding.  Sexey's Hospital has a legal duty to protect everyone who comes into contact with Sexey's Hospital from harm and in particular residents who are at risk.  Safeguarding and protecting people from harm is a key governance role of the Visitors.  The Safeguarding Manager is the Master.  A copy of our Safeguarding Policy can be obtained from this website below under 'Policies'..

Sexey's Hospital is a member of the Almshouse Association and functions according to the rules of the Charity Commission, Charity Registration No: 1130351
